Satō Keizan (Satō Michio) was born December 10, 1911 in Chiba Prefecture. He studied Yōzan-ryū shakuhachi under Kotake Kazan. He started teaching in 1935. He was a director of Tokyo Yōzan-kai. His career spanned more than 40 years.
