Born February 6, 1910 in Wakayama Prefecture, Ichiba Kyohaku (Ichiba Kiyoshi) studied Muraji-ryū shakuhachi under Muraji Kyodō. He started teaching in 1939 and belonged to the Chiyomi-kai. During a career spanning more than 40 years he was the vice-chairman of Muraji Ryu, the vice-chairman of the Amagasaki Sankyoku Association, and a councilor of the Osaka Sankyoku Association.
