Kubosumi Itsushin (Kubosumi Akihito) was born November 15, 1911 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He studied Itsudō-ha Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Ikeda Itsuren and Sakata Itsusei. He started teaching in 1959. He was a member of the Shakuhachi Itsuren-kai.
