Born in Nagano, Japan into the Sanada family.

She learned the koto from her two grandmothers, Yufumi and Kameyo, from her earliest memories.

In October 1909, she received a certificate of transmission of the Yatsuhashi school.

One of the last representatives of the Yatsuhashi-Ryū koto style.
