Kobayashi Mudō (Kobayashi Gen’ichi) was born February 24, 1908 in Ashikaga City. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Kimura Yūsai and started teaching in 1947. He belonged to the Chikusen-kai. His career spanned 50 years.
