Satō Reishō (Satō Haruo) was born on October 22, 1916. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Aoki Reibo I and Aoki Shizuo (Reibo II). He started teaching in 1948. He was a member of Reibo-kai and Chikuryū-kai, and presided over the Reishō-kai.
