Muraji Kyodō (Muraji Kuniichi) was born December 9, 1894 in Osaka. He was the president of the Muraji-ryū Shakuhachi-kyokai and the Chiyomi-kai, the advisor of the Nishinomiya Sankyoku Association, and a permanent director and supervisor of the Osaka Sankyoku Association. He studied under Yoshimura Toshō, Ito Kōhō, and Ueda Hōdō. He began his 60+ year career as a shakuhachi teacher in 1930.
