History (Hiraoka Yoko):

Hatsune (the fist birdsong by a bush warbler) was supposedly composed as a celebratory announcement piece of Mitsuzaki’s obtaining Kengyo status as well as expressing the joy of New Year. The song text was by Takayoshi. This is often performed as an auspicious piece to celebrate o-shogatsu.
