Raden

[Also Known As]Mother-of-Pearl
[Composed]Sawai Tadao - Koto - 1960

History (Shirley Kazuyo Muramoto):

Presented in two movements, this composition evokes the iridescence and changing colors in the mother of pearl.

Song 1 - Admiring the natural craftsmanship of nature in teh creation of mother-ofperl shells, the iridescent hues are reflected in an interesting variety of rhythms which makes the entire section a lively rondo.

Song 2 - Prisms of a beam of light, hues of the beautiful seashells start as a calm etude in variations of expression and tones. As in a dream, the radiant shells in their brillance reflect a variance of colors from different angles and beams of light, of wondrous shades expressed in nature's craftmanship of beauty expressed through the rhythm and melody.
