A nagauta singer of the mid-Edo period who studied under Kichiji Fujita I and others of the Edo nagauta school, and excelled at solo recitations of meliyasumo such as "Kurogami. In his later years, he promoted Edo nagauta in Osaka.

Meriyasumono is one of the performance techniques of kuromiyoshi music (kuromiyoshi music). It is also said to be compared to meryas (fabric) because it can be stretched or shrunk freely.
