Yamazoe Shōho (Yamazaki Noboru) was born May 2, 1936 in Hyogo Prefecture. He studied Chikuho-ryū shakuhachi under Sakai Chikuho I. He began teaching in 1966. He received the 1970 Expo Commemoration Award. He belonged to the Seibikai.
