Born April 9, 1941 in Kyoto Prefecture, Yoshikawa Shinpo (Yoshikawa Nobuyuki) studied Chikuho-ryū shakuhachi under Sakai Chikuho I. Started teaching in 1967. He received the 1970 Expo Commemoration Award. He was a member of Seibikai.
