This Shakuhachi solo was composed in traditional "Honkyoku" style. Hozan Yamamoto told about the motif as follows : "Bamboo, grown up in barren soil, is made to Shakuhachi by high human technique. When I am impressed by naive tone of Shakuhachi, I am reminded of human power which conquered nature by natural way. I tried to express in this composition a wonderful world of human beings creating something by law of nature, as the saying is “Heaven has no mouth, and speaks through human lips."
