Meisoroku

[Genre]Modern
[Also Known As]Three Meditations

History (Riley Kōho Lee):

The meaning that Riley had in mind for this title relates to the word, rokuroku ni, which means 'to no purpose, in idleness'.

A more accurate translation of the title might be "Purposeless Meditations".

The kanji 'roku', on its own also has the following meanings: 'satisfactory, proper, respectful, right, good, worth mentioning; many, much; enough'. All of these meanings could fit the spirit of the piece, too. You may take your pick!

The word, 'three', in the title used on the CD "Three Meditations" was added by the original record company, which was their prerogative. There are, after all, three short pieces in the group.
