Satto is also known as: Satto for Fue and Percussions.
This piece was composed for shakuhachi by Nagasawa Katsutoshi
in 1975
.
History (from Miyata Kohachiro)
The Wind Dance
This composition gives modern expression to a spirit at least as ancient as the instruments on which it is played - the spirit of the Shinto Festival. Satto is a technical term referring to a medium-fast movement in dance compositions of the ancient court, but it was the impressionist sound of the term, rather than its literal
meaning, that attracted the composer to this title.
Satto appears on the following albums:
| Album | Shakuhachi | Koto | Shamisen |

The second movement uses Shinobue to bring about the native feeling of festivals and dances. Percussion instruments were also used in each movement, for a religious effect in the first movement and an ethnic effect in the second movement, to efficiently express the composer's Japanese image.
