Studied with Shin Hozan in 1969. Attained teaching license of Tozan Style Shakuhachi performance as the top of his class in 1974. Studied with Hozan Yamamoto in 1975. Awarded Gold Prize of the Tozan Style Shakuhachi Honkyoku contest in 1976. Awarded First Prize of the Minister of Education in 1982. Awarded Arts Festival Prize of the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 1987. Awarded the Tozan Prize of Tozan Style in 1988. Published CD album "Seizan Ishigaki " in 1993.
Furthermore, the Japan Foundation and others sent him to Holland, U.S.A., former Soviet Union, North Europe, the Middle East, Spain and South East Asia etc. for public performances.
Now he is a master of "Tozan style" Shakuhachi, teacher of "Honkyoku", examiner of "Tozan style" license and a member of Houzan group, Modern Hougaku Composer Association, Shakuhachi Group "1979".
He graduated from electrical engineering course of Kanazawa Univ., completed the NHK hougaku Training Program.
