Nakao Tozan Mitsuko is the head of the Shin-Tozan-Ryu, she is a daughter of Nakao Tozan the second and the granddaughter of the founder of the Tozan-ryu Nakao Tozan. The Tozan-Ryu of the shakuhachi was founded by Nakao Tozan in the Meiji era. But after the death of Nakao Tozan the second, the Tozan-Ryu school was divided into three groups, the Shin-Tozan-Ryu school beomg one of them.
