1933 Born in Osaka. At the age of six, began studies of Shakuhachi with father, Chikuoh, creator of Chikuho School. At the age of seventeen, called Chiku-Doh.
1957-1964 Began appearing in radio programs with Kobe Radio (now, Radio Kansai). Premiere performance of "Five Pieces for Shakuhachi, CHIKURA'" in NHK radio program "Modern Japanese Music." Several recitals in Osaka. Began extensive studies of Shakuhachi playing in contemporary music with Mr. Makoto Moroi.
1965 Appeared at the 6th Contemporary Music Festival with performance of "CHI KURAI" and accepted with a great success. Recorded own work "Yoh' Ka" (Bewitching Fire) with Crown Records.
1967 Assumed title of the 2nd Master of Chikuho School, and changed alias to Chikuho (II).
In October, received Music Critics Club Award for the performance of "CHIKURAI" at the 5th "Autumn in Osaka" Modern Music Festival, and Osaka Cultural Award for the performance of the same number at the Reception Concert in Commemoration of Assuming the 2nd Mastership of Chikuho School and the 50th Anniversary of the School.
1968 The first recital in Tokyo, with performances of "Shin MUKAIJI", "CHIKURAI", and "FIVE DIALOGUES."
1969 Recitals in Tokyo and Osaka.
Own works: "Yoh 'Ka" (Bewitching Fire). "Etude for Koto and Small Shakuhachi", "Concerto Etude for Koto and Shakuhachi," etc.
