Hasegawa Tōgaku

Shakuhachi

Known as the last head priest of Futaiken temple, Hasegawa Tōgaku was a komusō of the Ōshū lineage as transmitted at the temple Futaiken (布袋軒) in northern Japan. Tōgaku also mastered the repertoire and performance practices of his native Kyūshū (he was born in Kumamoto).
