Suzuki Tamon was born on February 28, 1925 in Aomori Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū and Meian-ryū shakuhachi under Okudera Toshio, Nakamura Kikufū, and Kosone Kurata. He was a member of the Fukuoka Sankyoku-kyōkai, the Fukuoka Chikuryū-kai, and the Sasebo Sankyoku-kyōkai.
