Jeff Cairns has studied Kinko-ryu shakuhachi under Wakana kai master Tsurugi, Kodo in Kumamoto, Japan since 1987. He currently maintains an active schedule in Kumamoto as both a classical and modern shakuhachi performer, and a teacher within the Wakana kai ranks.
