Yamaguchi Kidō (Yamaguchi Kunio) was born March 22, 1940 in Kyoto Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Ogura Kodo. He started teaching in 1971. He was a member of the Kyoto branch of Nitta Chikudō Gakkan and the Karyu-kai.
