Iida Katsutoshi was born June 11, 1940 in Aichi Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Takeuchi Shikō and Yamamoto Nobuyuki. He began teaching in 1967. He belonged to the Chikufū-kai and Shikō-kai.
