Kikuko Satoh’s first lessons were from her mother. At a later stage she studied under Miyagi Kiyoko Shi. At the age of 25 she graduated from NHK Ginosha Ikuseikai (Association for promotion technicians of Japanese music). She is also a music-graduate of Tokyo Gedai University , where she completed a post-graduate course in 1987. She has given lecture-recitals in the United States and in China. She took part in the 1991 recording of Japanese Music for "Dragon-Quest". She is a member of Miyagi-kai, Mori-no-kai and Mutsu-no-o, a lecturer of I.C.A. Edo Culture and a frequent broadcaster.
