Ronald Nelson has been playing shakuhachi since 1987 and has studied under John Singer for most of that time. He performs regularly with Japanese music groups around the San Francisco Bay Area and is the current president of The International Shakuhachi Society and the creator of Komuso.com. He plays to enjoy the breathy sound of the bamboo, the ancient spiritual elements of the music, and the opportunities for interacting and creating with others.
