Keiko Miyakoshi completed the artists program in koto at the Seiha Music Academy in 1974, where her teachers included Yasuko Nakashima and Sumiko Goto. The same year she passed the NHK performance audition, completed the NHK training program for young artists, and joined Pro Musica Nipponia. As a member of that group she has toured throughout the world and has received the Remy Martin Prize and Matsuo Prizes in 1988 and 1993 she gave her first and second jushichigen koto recitals. She is currently a member of Pro Musica Nipponia, Seiha Ensemble, and is an instructor in the Seiha Music Academy.
