Fukuda Chieko

Studied koto from Tanehiko Fukuda, her father, from childhood and made first stage appearance at age three. After completed NHK Traditional Music Training Program, studied as the Domestic Arts Student of the Agency of Cultural Affairs in 1988.

Begun the "Chieko Fukuda Concert" in 1992 firstly, after that, she has continued to do it.

Awarded the Arts Festival Prize in 1993 for the 2nd recital and gained public attention as the youngest prizewinner in history.

Awarded the Arts Festival Superior Prize from the Agency of Cultural Affairs for 6th recital, her reputation for the arts of classical styled Koto as young player was stabled in this time.
