Received her teaching licence and geimei (stage name) in 1987 from her teacher, Chikushi Miyoko, iemoto of Ikuta-ryu Chikushi Koto School (Fukuoka). Awarded Shihan (Master) licence with Yunyushusho (honours) ranking in 1989. Has performed in Canada, the U.S. and Japan and has been teaching koto from her studio in Toronto, Canada since 1987.
